Green guarantee

The GREEN Guarantee Label is a quality label that BF®Petfood uses for its products.

The GREEN Guarantee Label has the following specific characteristics:

  • Dutch top quality*.
  • sustainable, natural (BF) and organic products (BIOFOOD) based on 'respect for animals, people and the environment'.
  • use of high-quality, natural and/or organic premium certified raw materials and ingredients from the Netherlands and/or Europe*, whereby we strive for the smallest possible ecological footprint.
  • use of fresh recipe free-range meat and game, dried and fresh (chicken, beef, turkey, duck and lamb) and fish (salmon) and/or organic meat (chicken, turkey and beef) and organ meat such as liver, heart and tripe.
  • use of recyclable "No waste" packaging.
  • use of oils and fats of animal origin, preserved with natural tocopherols.
  • use of natural additives (vitamin E, rosemary extract, cranberry, rose hip).
  • No artificial fragrances, colors, flavors, or other chemicals. This applies to all our natural and organic pet food products, from snacks and feed to our rawhide dental chews.
  • no factory farming.
  • against the use of growth promoters, hormones, genetic modification and antibiotics.
  • environmentally and animal friendly (not tested on animals).
  • Raw materials, products and suppliers are continuously inspected unannounced by BF®Petfood and independent inspection bodies.
  • BF®Petfood suppliers and subcontractors are HACCP, ISO and/or BRC FOOD certified, and/or Organic certified (see BIOFOOD products) and/or GMP coded.
  • Suppliers and subcontractors of BF®Petfood are VWA inspected.
  • BF®Petfood suppliers and subcontractors are inspected and certified. They receive a GREEN guarantee certificate provided they meet all requirements and the raw materials meet the required specific quality standards.
  • use of sustainable and responsible transport (LEAN and GREEN).

Green Guarantee stands for a natural, healthy, clean and sustainable end product.


*Except: the top quality rawhide dental from Brazil, the organic wet food from Germany, the garlic from Spain, 80% of the herbs come from Europe (20% outside Europe) and the salmon and salmon oil from Scotland.
**The BF Petfood specific GREEN GUARANTEE quality standard is a standard that is bound to controlled specific established rules that suppliers and their raw materials must comply with regarding origin, production method, quality, controls, sustainability, cleaning and environmentally and animal friendliness.
***The BF® Rawhide DENTAL chews are produced under the food safety standard BRC Global Standard for Food Safety (BRC Food), which focuses on food safety and quality requirements specified by HACCP: Setting the standard.
