Complete, premium and natural cat food developed for adult cats, to support the urinary tract (struvite*: struvite bladder grit and struvite bladder stones) and in cases of overweight (e.g. sterilisation). High animal protein content and a low fat percentage. With FOS prebiotics (inulin) and Scottish salmon oil. Scottish salmon oil, rich in omega 3 and 6, provides support for the skin, coat, joints and immune system. Contains a balanced ratio of minerals and is wheat-free. High acceptance and digestibility. Supports the urinary tract, is highly suitable for overweight cats and helps reduce hairball formation. Contains a low level of magnesium and urine-modifying properties. The food is developed to keep the urine pH under control (towards <6.5) and provides support by reducing the amount of mineral substances that form struvite, thereby promoting the prevention of struvite stone formation. The food promotes the undersaturation of urine with respect to struvite. Yeast, fibre and prebiotics support digestion. Reduces the odour and volume of stools and contains no artificial additives. Please note: bladder grit (struvite) can never be 100% (guaranteed) prevented. Even manufacturers of special diet food cannot guarantee this. For cats that need support for the kidneys and/or oxalate bladder grit, we recommend BF® Senior cat food and Bio beef menu, due to high kcal (in connection with reduced appetite), low phosphorus and limited protein.

Tip: Combining wet food and dry food provides variety and a balanced diet. This can be done by mixing them, but they can also be given separately. For example, dry food in the morning and wet food in the evening. For cats, we advise not to mix dry food and wet food. Nutritional advice

*NBThere are several possible causes for bladder grit (struvite: small crystals) and stones (large crystals, kidney and bladder stones) in cats. Kidney and bladder stones require separate treatment. Bladder grit is very common in cats. The most common types of bladder grit in cats are struvite and oxalate. Oxalate stones and oxalate grit, which occur in both the kidneys and bladder, cannot be treated with a diet. Surgery is often recommended. Struvite can be treated with a diet. The pH of the urine is an important factor in the possible formation of grit. The normal pH of cat urine is between 6 and 6.5. A lower pH (and therefore a higher acidity) can lead to oxalate formation. Alkaline urine, with a pH above 7.2, can lead to struvite formation. This is one of the reasons why feeding struvite-fighting food to an animal with oxalate grit can actually worsen the symptoms.Control Urinary Cat is food specifically developed for struvite bladder grit and struvite stones. To minimize crystal formation, wet food is often recommended.By feeding wet food, the cat automatically gets more moisture and the cat will urinate more, which allows any remaining crystals to be urinated out.
