BF® Control - Urinary / Sterilized. Dutch top quality. Complete, premium, and natural cat food developed for adult cats to support the urinary tract (struvite*: stuvite bladder grit and stuvite bladder stones) and for overweight cats (e.g., sterilization). High animal protein content and low fat percentage. With prebiotic FOS (inulin). Contains a modified mineral ratio and is wheat-free. High acceptance and digestibility. Supports the urinary tract, is very suitable for overweight cats, and helps reduce hairball formation. Low magnesium content and urine acidifying properties. Tip: Combining wet and dry food provides variety and a balanced diet. This can be done by mixing them, or feeding them separately. For example, kibble in the morning and wet food in the evening. Nutritional advice

*NBThere are several possible causes for bladder grit (struvite: small crystals) and stones (large crystals, kidney and bladder stones) in cats. Kidney and bladder stones require separate treatment. Bladder grit is very common in cats. The most common types of bladder grit in cats are struvite and oxalate. Oxalate stones and oxalate grit, which occur in both the kidneys and bladder, cannot be treated with a diet. Surgery is often recommended. Struvite can be treated with a diet. The pH of the urine is an important factor in the possible formation of grit. The normal pH of cat urine is between 6 and 6.5. A lower pH (and therefore a higher acidity) can lead to oxalate formation. Alkaline urine, with a pH above 7.2, can lead to struvite formation. This is one of the reasons why feeding struvite-fighting food to an animal with oxalate grit can actually worsen the symptoms.Control Urinary Cat is food specifically developed for struvite bladder grit and struvite stones. To minimize crystal formation, wet food is often recommended.By feeding wet food, the cat automatically gets more moisture and the cat will urinate more, which allows any remaining crystals to be urinated out.
